Brother Backwards -- Unintended, Prophetic Affirmation
Unintended reckless mistake of saying Isaac was
progenitor of the Arabs and Ishmael was the progenitor of the Jews and Free
World Christians (Ephraim), dovetails into the theme of that write-up -- the
need for reconciliation with our brothers who are our equal before God.
I find it most amusing that in my post yesterday on
"
Boxers Backwards -- Isaac vs. Jacob"
{},
I not only had brother-brother vs. father-son backwards, but when I
corrected the mistake, I had Isaac as the father of the Arabs and Ishmael as
father of the Jews. I was no more careful composing that paragraph
than I was putting my boxers on the day before.
Certainly I know those stories of the great patriarchs as well as I know how
to put my boxers on straight.
It is a fitting (and unintentional) mistake considering the whole idea of
the post of things being up-side-down and in-side-out not really being that
different so far as the outcome. It is still a struggle of
divisiveness with a final destiny of restitution.
Here is the corrected paragraph:
"It is the story of Isaac vs. Ishmael -- Ishmael being the progenitor
of the Arabs, and Isaac being the progenitor of the Jews and the Gentile
Christians (Ephraim). It is likewise the story of Jacob vs. Esau, and Joseph
who was sold into Egypt vs. his brothers, of Nephi vs. Laman and Lemuel, and
so on and so forth . . . of Christ vs. Lucifer. The jealous older brother is
mad at the younger brother for steeling what he believes rightfully belongs
to him -- his birthright."
By the way, even though I was awfully silly at times in that post, it is one
of the most serious discoveries or insights I've ever produced. I hope
it gets some circulation and makes a difference.
Dean's post following mine dovetailed very well.
This time in which we now sit, this juncture, perhaps more than any other,
is a time in which this principle needs to be realized and implemented.
If we pursue hot revenge, we will only see the annihilation of our
civilization.
If we pursue reconciliation with our brother, then that annihilating WWIII
will be averted.
No, I'm not saying let's let the perpetrators off the hook. They need
to be pursued and brought to justice -- with mercy extended to any who have
sufficient broken hearts and contrite spirits.
But on the scale of extremes, I urge that we err on the side of mercy rather
than vengeance.
"An eye for an eye" is the very terror that hit us on 911.
Let us respond with the teachings of Christ: "Love thine enemy"
(see Randall and Laura and other posts to this effect [at the 911
index]; "turn the other cheek" (see Bonnie's post).
The old law response will bring annihilation. The new law will bring
reconciliation and peace.
It won't be an easy task, but we must pursue it.
Sincerely,
Bradley Jordan
